Some love stories are written across continents, and Shagan & Sumeet’s is one such journey. Booked months in advance for their December wedding, our paths crossed in San Francisco, where a simple coffee chat quickly transformed into a vibrant engagement session. Instead of saving their pre-wedding shoot for Chandigarh or Delhi—where the winter fog looms large—we decided to make the most of California’s golden light and iconic backdrops.
The Couple
Shagan & Sumeet’s story began in 2006 at PEC, Chandigarh. Together, they pursued their MS degrees at the University of Texas, Austin. By the time I photographed them in San Francisco, Shagan had graduated from Stanford with her MS in Mathematics and was working in the city, while Sumeet was pursuing his PhD at Stanford. Their academic brilliance is only matched by the warmth and ease of their bond—a relationship that has gracefully evolved across time zones and milestones.
